S/MIME Encryption
If the recipient is another GlobalCerts user, or a public security certificate is available, the email is automatically encrypted and digitally signed utilizing certificate based S/MIME encryption. This patented technique is completely automatic for both the sender and recipient; no extra steps to take or passwords to enter. S/MIME is used whenever sending to another organization using GlobalCerts, or to any recipient who has sent a digitally signed email to your organization. The SMG automatically harvests their public certificate from the signature and uses it to send them secured email, direct to their inbox.

SecureMessengerTM Web Portal
The SecureMessenger function may be utilized for those recipients without a certificate. The email is encrypted and securely stored on the SMG, and a notification email is sent to the recipient. The recipient clicks on the link in the email and is securely connected to the SMG through an HTTPS web portal, where they authenticate and view their secure emails through a web-mail type interface. From the interface, they can securely reply back to the sender, including attachments if necessary. The portal is extremely easy to use, and only requires a quick, one-time account creation for the recipient. Click here to see a video demo!
Try SecureMessenger
Transport Layer Security (TLS)
SMTP over TLS is used whenever possible to deliver emails from the SMG. TLS can be used with specific partner domains instead of SecureMessenger for those recipient organizations that support strong TLS encryption throughout their inbound email path. This allows your organization to use automatic, transparent TLS encryption rather than using the SecureMessenger portal, to save you and the recipients time and effort.
