We’re proud to announce the general availability of the newest version of our flagship product, the SecureMail Gateway. Version 5.1.0 brings even more functionality and S/MIME capabilities, with a new fresh look.
S/MIME Improvements
One of the main focuses of 5.1.0 is improved S/MIME capabilities. We have improved our digital signature process by now signing all emails with SHA-256 hashes instead of the older SHA1 hash. We’ve also improved support for utilizing 3rd party certificates. Administrators can now easily upload and use trusted 3rd party S/MIME certificates for all their users. The SMG now also periodically cleans out expired or revoked harvested recipient certificates. This will ensure that you’re users will not be sending S/MIME emails that the recipient can’t open.
DKIM Support
We have added support for Domain Keys Identified Mail (DKIM) signing. This functionality allows administrators to create DKIM keys for each sending domain, and employ the SMG to automatically sign all outgoing messages using the key. Adding DKIM signatures to outbound email will improve the trustworthiness of your outbound emails, ensuring both secured and unsecured emails can be trusted by the recipient.
Improved UI
Finally, we’ve given the UI a refresh and modernized the aesthetics of both the administrator interfaces and SecureMessenger. This will give SecureMessenger recipients a more modern and better experience overall.
We are excited to start the upgrade roll-out this week. If you have any questions about the changes or would like to schedule a specific date and time for your upgrade, please let us know by contacting support@globalcerts.net.
